Dear Rick,

Happy Mother's Day!  

I am sure all of you moms have received several 'chain e-mails' with sappy-but-true poems about how great it is to be a mom.  

Well, I have to agree, being a mom is the best, hardest, most rewarding job ever.  You never realized you could love someone so much or hurt so much when another person was hurting until you held your baby in your arms.  I hope that you have a wonderful day today and enjoy all of the homemade Mother's Day cards - those are my favorite!  My mission for today is to hold my own mom and grandma tight and be sure they know how loved and appreciated they are.  

On a more fitness related note, I encourage you to take holidays like today to incorporate fitness into your celebrations.  Instead of making your day all about the food - go on a hike with your family, get out and go on a bike ride, or go take the aerobics class you have always wanted.  Let today be a step forward in your fitness goals instead of a step back!

Make the most of everyday!
