I am a 32 year old full time mom, and group fitness instructor. I love lifting weights, running, doing Pilates, and learning about alternative medicine. I ran a health food store for several years, and enjoy working there a few hours a week as well. I think being a mother is one of the most important jobs a woman can have, and feel blessed to be able to spend each day with my son. I am very happily married to my best friend and live in Northern Kentucky.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?
I am still getting ready for my first figure show, but the progress that I have made to date has been a big accomplishment. I also competed in the Urban Eco Challenge a few years back - running, river rafting, and military obstacle course - that was pretty tough also.

Transformation info - How much have you changed in what period of time? What things have most helped you make that transformation?
I gained 80 pounds with my first pregnancy and have now lost it all and then some! Since I started with Julie in Dec. I have lost 11% bodyfat in 14 weeks, and still counting!!
Without a doubt, being part of Julie's Team FitBody made this possible. The support from Julie and the other girls has kept me on track, focused, and motivated. Even though I have known how to work out and eat right I really didn't make big changes until I had a specific plan , a tangible goal, and people to be held accountable to.

What do you enjoy most about fitness?
Wow, so many things!! Fitness is who I am. I have been active all of my life, but there were times during my pregnancies that I was on bed rest and could not do anything. I felt so disconnected from myself during those time periods where I couldn't work out or at times just didn't want to. It lifts my spirits, keeps me sane, helps me to feel whole. The way the body reacts and adapts is awesome, and is certainly a big bonus!

What are your fitness goals?
Right now my goal is just to simply compete in a figure show. I would also like to return to my pre-pregnancy running pace and do a few more races this year.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
I want to be around to see the kids grow up and have their own kids. I need to set a good example for my son and stepdaughter, so they know how to take care of their bodies as well. I want to wake up in the mornings and feel happy and excited about the day. I can't express how much better I feel when I eat all my veggies and exercise - if I could just bottle that feeling I would be a millionaire! Oh, and I also want to be able to wear those "skinny jeans"!

What is the best part about working with Julie?
Where to start?? Julie is so knowledgeable, professional, and super sweet and sincere. Even though I know she is extremely busy, she always answers every question quickly and thoroughly. I don't know how she juggles all of the things she has to do, but somehow she still finds the time to make us all feel important and inspired. What else can I say...She is awesome!

What is the worst part about working with Julie?
No such thing!!


Favorite 'diet' food:
Oh my goodness, I love grapefruit. It sometimes is the highlight of my day. And thanks to Kim Cory I also love pumpkin.

I have met some of the most amazing women through this process, each with their own unique strengths. I think strong women are beautiful women and am so thankful that I had the opportunity to cross paths with each of them!!
