Profile

Personal Information:  I am 40 years old, and, along with my husband, love to spoil our two huskies.  I'm a personal trainer, boot camp instructor, and quality process manager.  I've been active in sports all of my life but recently decided that I wanted to take my personal fitness to the next level.  The first step was to gain muscle, the second is to reduce fat.

What are your greatest fitness accomplishments so far?  In the past 6 months, I've added 14 lbs. while my body fat percentage increased less than 1.  I found all I had to do was follow Julie's plan.  I plateaud once during that time, but she talked me through it, and then I kept making progress.  I know I couldn't have accomplished this without the unfaltering support of my husband, whose life has been greatly altered as a result of my nutrition plan which I affectionately call my "feeding times", and my parents who have been my cheerleaders.

What do you enjoy most about fitness?  Everything.  It has always been a part of my life so there isn't one particular aspect that I can call out.  I embrace the hard work, the tangible results, and the feeling I have after accomplishing something new.

What are your fitness goals?  Now that I've added more muscle to my frame, it's time to reduce my body fat percentage.  I hesitate to choose a certain percentage as a goal, but instead I have a goal physique that I want to achieve which is to look like I compete in figure or fitness.  I'm unsure if I actually want to compete, but we'll see.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?  My desire is driven by wanting to be the best that I can.  I want to be physically and emotionally healthy,  and look and feel it.  My competitiveness is internal.  I want to lift more today than I did yesterday, and finish one more rep tomorrow than I did today.  If someone else notices it and compliments me on it, then that's icing on the cake.

What is the best part about working with Julie?  I first approached Julie because of her experience and personal success.  I mean, have you seen her list of accomplishments?  And look at her!  During our initial conversation, I found that she listened and understood my goal of wanting to add muscle without adding fat.  Since then, she has provided me with fitness and nutrition programs that have helped to accomplish it.

What is the worst part about working with Julie?  Well this is just a foolish question.  Nothing!  :)

Favorite 'diet' food:  protein pancakes!  And this isn't a diet for me - it's a lifestyle.

Fitness really is a lifestyle.  It's part of who I am, and I love it!
