Name: Christi Kelly

Hometown: Pendleton, Indiana

Although I am now 40 years old I still consider myself a GIRL! My husband Jerry and I have been married 20 years and have two wonderful but ornery teenagers. We own a Real Estate Appraisal Firm (20 years in Real Estate) and Personal Trainer Studio (2 years).

I am a late bloomer in the athletic area. I enjoyed sports more as a spectator in my youth. Always active I played basketball with the neighborhood kids, played little league softball, rode bikes. I enjoyed it all just never was overally aggressive (or coordinated in my opinion). Just never was quite good enough at anything to make the cut.

At the age of 30 I started seeing my body shifting in a direction I didn’t care for. My babies weren’t babies anymore. Upon a friends advice I decided to take time for myself and try weightlifting. I was intimidated as I had never worked out and had never been to a gym. I have always been timid to try new things. I was immediately hooked. It has been my passion for ten years now.

I am creative by nature. Weight training has been one more way to express my creativity as I can change body continually based on nutrition/supplements and training. Weight training has been my constant. It has seen me through good times and bad. It has been my stress buster. It has helped me with my spirituality. It is what I am about. More than a hobby it truly is a lifestyle. And thankfully I have my family’s support and understanding.

What do you enjoy most about fitness?
Seeing my body change, busting out stress, and helping others be happier and healthier.

What are your fitness goals?
Never stop growing! Improve. Do more competitions in 2007. Become more involved with our training studio, have more space at some point but still keep it small. I think that is my nitch. My husband enjoys photographing me—I think I am photogenic and would love to do some small time modeling as well.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
I honestly don’t know. I am somewhat obsessive and competitive. I want to be healthy for myself, my family, and I know that is what God wants for all of us.

Would you like to thank anyone? Julie Lohre, Beverly Nutrition, Jerry, Jerin, & Justis Kelly, My Parents, My In Laws, Kris, my training partner Tammy Whitesell, everyone who has supported me. The list could go on forever….
