Here are a few excerpts from an interview Kim recently did....

Have you ever struggled with your weight or body image? If yes, how did your issues?
Of course, I think most women today suffer from some form of self body image, but it is how you overcome it and learn to love you.  5 years ago I would have never had the confidence to go to a gym or even lift weights.  My husband who has been in a gym his whole life helped me adapt to a new lifestyle and gave me the confidence I needed.  I met him when I was at my heaviest at 177lbs. and now weight 127lbs. I am so thankful he has been such an instrumental part of my life in becoming active, healthy and feeling beautiful.

When did you start working out and what inspired you to?
I began working out in 2003.  At that time I reached my all time weight high at 177lbs wearing a size 14.  Additionally I was depressed and so unhappy with how I had let myself get this way.  I was determined to learn the ropes of the gym and nutrition, but had no clue how to do it.  My husband was there for me every step of the way from encouraging me in the gym to supporting me in finding work out partners to now motivating me to compete.  He has been one of my best trainers, mentors, supporters and cheerleaders.

Who is your role model? Why?
First is my Mom.  She is an amazing woman with unbelievable inner strength and determination.  I have learned from her to stand proud of my accomplishments big or small and use her inner strength to keep me working hard to reach my fitness goals.  

Second would be Julie Lohre. I have never met anyone in my life before who is so sincere and truly cares about people.  She has been the best coach, mentor and friend I have had in my lifetime. Julie has taught me you can still have it all and compete in fitness.  Her abilities to balance career, family and her passion for the sport is like knowing Wonder Woman!  Her willingness to share, listen and teach means so much more than she will ever know.

Personal Information:
I am a sales and marketing director in student housing for OSU students and the youth inspire me everyday to live my life to the fullest.  I was never into sports or fitness growing up, but today I have found a new passion in my life and am currently working on my own
website to educate and motivate others on health and fitness.  I want to share with others the reality of finding self confidence and physical well being.  Reaching your fitness goals should be rewarding all while having fun!

What are your greatest fitness
accomplishments so far?  
First my body looks better now then when I was in high school… and second being proud of the dedication, drive and motivation I have within myself to get my body into such amazing shape!

What do you enjoy most about fitness?
The energy I have after a great workout, challenging myself, and seeing amazing results.

What are your fitness goals?
I want to continue my dedication to living a healthy and active lifestyle all while working hard to keep developing my mind and body to become a better competitor.

What motivates you to maintain a healthy lifestyle?
Knowing the harder I work at continuing a healthy diet and exercise, the better the results, the better I f
eel and the closer I get in reaching my life long goals.

What is the best part about working with Julie?

Can I write a novel about Julie?  I have never met anyone in my life before who is so sincere and truly cares about people.  She has been the best coach, mentor and friend I have had in my lifetime.  Her willingness to share, listen and teach means so much more than she will ever know.  If you are looking for someone to get you on the right track to reaching your fitness goals, then look no further because you have found the Queen-Julie Lohre.

What is the worst part about working with Julie?
She works so hard to always be there for you and in constant contact.  I worry about her wh
en I get emails from her at 2 and 3 am!  Yeah that’s right girls, Julie tells us to get our sleep, but shouldn’t she?  So I guess the worst part about working with Julie is really nothing, she just cares so much and is devoted to her work and friends.

Any other comments or anything else you would like to share?
It was just 5 years ago when I first stepped into a gym and picked up weights.  Although this was a start, I needed to
learn more about nutrition and exercise to get me on my way to reaching my fitness goals.  I am so fortunate to have surrounded myself with positive and encouraging people to help me reach my goals and keep striving to only get better mentally and physically. Thanks Kevin and Julie for always being my cheerleaders.  I would not be the woman I am today without you!
