Dear Rick,
Happy Holidays! This is such an exciting time of year with so much to do! One of my goals this season is to stop from time to time and enjoy the little things. Sometimes I feel so focused on knocking items off my 'to do' list that I end up missing some of the most important moments of life. Last night, my husband, son and I donned our Santa hats, turned on some Christmas music and spent the next several hours putting up the Christmas tree. Before we knew it 7 pm had turned into 10:30 - way past our little guys' bedtime. Even though it had gotten much later than I intended, we still capped off the night with a book in bed, Charlie Brown's Christmas. Wow, what a wonderful way to spend time with my family. When you sit back and think about it, the most cherished moments we have in life have little to do with money or material things. Don't forget to take those moments this season. One thing I would also encourage you to make time for this season is fitness. You will feel and look great at the company holiday party or your neighborhood get together if you set aside 30-45 mins every day to get in a workout. This might not be the time to focus on contest prep, but if you can KEEP FROM GAINING FAT over the coming month, achieving those famous New Year's resolutions will be MUCH easier. So, get up a few minutes earlier or skip one store during that shopping spree and fit in some type of fitness every day. I have yet to meet the woman who truly does not have a few minutes to throw at her health and well being - even if it means just turning off the TV for one show. It is all about priorities. Think about it. Have a wonderful Holiday Season and a Fit & Healthy New Year! Julie |
