Abs BannerWell, the countdown to the 2008 Fitness Olympia in Las Vegas has begun.  It is now 7 weeks until the world's biggest, most prestigious Bodybuilding, Fitness & Figure show and I am so very excited about stepping on stage again.  This has been a wonderful summer and I am blessed to have been able to take the time to 'invest' back into some of the areas of my life that get put on the back burner during contest prep.  With renewed focus and determination I started truly preparing for this show 3 weeks ago. 

Abs BannerFrom 10 weeks out, I have brought fitness back into the forefront of my focus.  While I maintain a 'good, clean' eating style in the off season, I paid less attention to portion size and allowed myself to have a cheat meal when I wanted (not all the time!). During the last 3 weeks however, I have been hitting morning cardio again and watching my diet closely.  I am making sure that I get all of my supplements and as promised, have been carrying my trusty pink 1/2 gallon water jug with me everywhere.  I have to admit, this has been a welcome structure and plan for my days.  Call me crazy, but I like knowing what I should be eating for each meal.  So far, so good.  Energy is great and I happy with my diet foods.  Of course, when it is time to eat again I am ready and my salads are already growing larger and larger.  Thank goodness for a stocked garden full of squash, zucchini and peppers!  Good vegetables make this diet one that I actually enjoy.

Over the next 7 weeks, I will be giving you my play by play account of what I do to get ready for the Olympia.  From my training program and cardio to routine practices to full disclosure on my diet and supplements, I am putting it all out there in my member's area for you to see.  Right down to my first thing in the morning progress photos - no makeup artist or photoshopping here!  Just the nitty gritty truth about how I feel, what I do and how I make it all fit into my life - without becoming my whole life.  Yes, it is possible.

          Competitors Spotlight

Congratulations to new mom and Figure Competitor Leslie Samples who won her class at the NPC Mississipi BodyBuilding and Figure show just 7 months after the birth of her son.

She is truly an inspiration to mothers everywhere and we are so proud of her!





Congratulations to Heidi Harrington who placed 3 Over All open, 4th in the Ms Fitness round and 4th in Model Search atthe Mile High Ms Fitness Show in Colorado. Heidi has made incredible changes in her physique over that last year and will be taking the stage at the Ms. Usa Nationals this September in Las Vegas!
                                       
Calling all competitors!!!! 

I have 2 programs beginning in the next months that will truly help you walk on stage at your personal best - the FitBody Contest Prep Team in the Northern KY/Cincinnati area and the Figure & Fitness Contest Prep Camp.  Spaces are limited, but if you have a serious desire to compete at your best then I want you to be involved!

Beginning Aug 30th thru Nov 22
FitBody Contest Prep Team
(12 week program)


The Team will consist of women dedicated to taking their physiques to a whole new level and coming into Figure or Fitness shows at their personal best.

Abs Banner Through a combination of individual attention and group meetings (scheduled approx every 3 weeks in the Northern KY/Cincinnati area), women will get expert advice about their personal needs and team support for motivation and overall success! 

This program incorporates Julie's Online Contest training program with in person meetings, posing clinics, final week prep details, even a post-contest photo shoot!

2 full days of workouts and seminars to help you prepare for your Figure or Fitness show.

Exercise Review

Ball Pike Ups - This hard core ab exercise is sure to give you the rock hard abs!  Incorporate this exercise three times a week - 4 sets of 10-15 reps.  Watch your form and never allow your hips to drop below your shoulders in the plank position.  Enjoy!
